Cappelle affrescate
Bardonecchia, bedside being a well-known winter sport destination, offers a large variety of cultural highlights. Speaking of sacred art, small churches and votive chapels in the upper part of the Susa Valley are a great opportunity to combine short and easy walks in a beautiful alpine environment with cultural visits. We mention among all St. Andrew and St. James Chapel in Horres, over the wide Bardonecchia valley, with a fresco cycle dating back to the beginning of XVI century; Notre Dame du Coignet over Les Arnauds and Melezet with paintings from XV and XVI century in the interior as well as on the façade; St. Sixtus Chapel in Melezet erected at the end of 1400, and Chaffaux Chapel dedicated to St. Maria Magdalene and St. Catherine of Alexandria dating back to the beginning of 1400.
